Stories written from the heart. Wisdom shared from the masses.

What started out as a fun “graduation guidebook” for my children as they headed off to college, quickly grew into something quite unexpected. This book about my life, my beliefs, my thoughts, my dreams… became more than just a random collection of childhood stories and dope fatherly advice. It seemed it was becoming a beacon of hope… of sorts. Hope for a better world that would keep our kids happier and safer. Hope that through all the anger, hatred, mistrust and misinformation that they could still find joy in this crazy, mixed-up world of ours.

If the internet is where negativity goes to live, then this book is where love goes to inspire. Together, this mixed up, mashed-up collection of life lessons, life hacks, and random thoughts and stories will… hopefully… give people all the information they need to keep them going on “This Journey Life.” All the while helping them find the JOY in the journey along the way.

Have a look at some of the excerpts below. Tell me what you think. Is there enough joy and hope in this book to share it with the masses?

What we’re selling

Flip through a few spreads below to see what this book is all about. Keep in mind that it was originally written for my twins. It is currently being amended to speak to the masses.

How to extend it

In addition to the main book I’ve written, I’ve also begun writing a series of follow-up versions as well.

What are the benefits

Here are just a few of the many advantages to publishing a Self-Help book like this:

If recent growth in the Self-Help book category is any indication, there is tremendous opportunity for this book series. The self-help genre in the US market alone is valued at $14 billion this year, and it’s projected to reach $81.6 billion by 2032, increasing 20% year-over-year. So clearly the demand is there for a fresh new, self-help perspective on how to live a more joyful life.

Almost all of the advice, tips, and life hacks that are included in the book are universally relatable. Little effort would be needed to translate the book(s) into multiple languages across the world. While also allowing for easy customization that is relevant to each country and culture.

As you well know, some of the most successful books in literature have expanded to become part of a series. The Chicken Soup for the Soul book series now has over 275 titles and has sold more than 500 million copies worldwide and been translated into 43 languages in over 100 countries. The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook has 12 books in their series and still sold over 10 million copies worldwide and inspired a series of related books, games, calendars, and two television series. The niche market potential of this book series is staggering.

This Journey Life was written for intellectually curious who love to learn and read, but are limited on time. The self-help book category, in particular, is surging in popularity due to shorter attention spans, less leisure time, and the rise of e-readers and digital platforms.

Self-help “sound byte” books like This Journey Life can also be more easily shared and discussed online, helping to further boost popularity. We could easily see a This Journey Life online community (e.g. website, Facebook, Instagram, X, BookTok…) where raving fans can go and share their own personal stories, advice and life hacks. The self-help market overall (including books, courses, and coaching) is expected to reach $59 billion this year alone.

In this day and age, the world has become so divided and fragmented like never before. This Journey Life book series will bring love, positivity and hope to inspire a better world. All the while having fun and learning new things along the way. Which is also why these books will make for great gifts for: graduations, birthdays, holidays… every day. The graduation gift market alone will be a record $6.8 billion for 2025. We could easily see the This Journey Life book series being sold right along with other enormously successful graduation books like The Alchemist, The 7 Habits of Highly-Effective People and Oh, The Places You’ll Go! books.

How to sell it

In addition to building an audience, leveraging social media and podcasts, here is a fun example of a poster that could be done to help promote the book in-store.
